Photostory Friday: 365 Week 16

365
Hosted by Chris

Ever have one of those Thursday nights?

Day 105

April 16: There is a great temptation, at this time of year, to go out and shoot pictures of flowers every day. I'm trying to limit myself to one flower picture per week.

Day 106

April 17: Kim and Garrett. If you've read my previous post, you'll know how pleased I am with this photo shoot.

I think couples may be my favorite photographic assignment.

Day 107

April 18: This is Emma's Extreme Jump Roping.

It involves Emma, a trampoline and a jump rope...not necessarily coordination.

Day 108

April 19: Um.

This is my glass of root beer.

At 11:55 pm.

Day 109

April 20: I taught my first ever photography class Tuesday night -- turns out I know more than I thought I did (go figure...), but, I needed an example of a slow shutter speed setting, so I ran up the canyon quickly to shoot the flowing stream.

This is my first attempt at capturing the ethereal, misty flowing water effect.

Day 110

April 21: The full name of this instrument is Pianoforte.

It's an Italian term meaning, basically, that it can be played soft, or hard.

When Emma plays, it's just a Forte.

Day 111

April 22:  As long as I'm looking at the beautiful blue sky, I can't see the weeds in my flower beds, or the crab grass in my lawn, or the oil stain in my driveway.

Happy Earth Day!

Yes the linky thing isn't working :(

That jumping shot really is awesome. Did you teach the class at a church thing or was it a paid thing?

I love the captions to your pictures. We definitely have a "forte" in our house too.

I do love rootbeer, but at 11:55 at night? What time did you go to bed?

I LOVE 107! That is an awesome jumping shot. :)

I am so jealous that I am not closer to take a photography class from you! Very cool. And I love the water flowing effect. You did very well with that one.

I LOVE blue sky and flowers, so I'm not complaining about those. And you have crab grass already? I am jealous. I need lawn filler. ;)

The extreme jumping shot is AWESOME.

Love the lovely water.

And the lovely sky.

And the brilliant commentary about your root beer.

Your stream is lovely, I have been wanting to try this.... but really I don't have the right scenery... we have a river but that's not the same! My sis and brother-in-law have taken some nice ones and I'm jealous of you all!

I LOVE the slow-shutter shot your took! Fabulous!

Funny you posted clouds... I spent all day yesterday photographing the sky, but didn't post the photos. (I wasn't thrilled with mine) Your photo is beautiful!

I have never been able to take a water shot like that. Teach me how this summer?

And I still love the shots of Kim and Garrett.

So, how do you slow shutter speed and not end up with a blurry mess?

I love the shot of Emma and I love her dirty feet--nothing else screams childhood and sunshiny days like that. :)

You inspired me, I just signed up for a class this summer.

I am having one of those Friday mornings. I got up early to get some work done on the computer and BOTH of my boys are awake too. *sigh*

I love to photograph flowers this time of year. That's why I have two shots this week. :o)

I think I may try to take a class this summer. Guess I'd better get on that.

I love the shot of Emma and of course the shot of Kim and Garrett. They really are a sweet couple!

That extreme jump roping looks like a blast.

Rootbeer..my favorite soda. It has to be A&W, though. No caffeine.

The water shot is awesome. I'm so bad with messing with the settings. It never seems quite easy enough. Wish I would have had a mentor tell me to go one step up with the camera. Oh, well, live and learn.

What kid doesn't play forte?

I know what you mean about the flowers....I've been trying to not just shoot them for each day this week.

I went back and looked through your last post....really great pictures!! I'm sure they will cherish them for a long time!

I want to hear more about this extreme jump roping...sounds fun! (and maybe a little dangerous!) Either way, this is a great picture!

Your stream picture is lovely!

I love the daffodils. Ours are long gone.

And root beer is sooo gross. But that's just my opinion, of course.

I love your couple picture and the picture of your daughter on the trampoline. Adorable! I agree - a flower a day would be lovely! :)

Oh, Abby would love the extreme jump-roping!

Love the daffodil - it's hard to resist those flower shots. You've got to check out the tulips from my Tuesday post. I have to say I was a little proud of myself. :)

LOL I too have been taking way too many pictures of flowers! I just cant help myself, it's so cool to me that a flower can go from a sprout to a bloom in a matter of days......

Looks like you had a great week!

I could take pictures of flowers everyday too!

Congrats on your first class teaching photography. That shot of the stream is fantastic. I'm sure your students were impressed by your impressive photography skills.

I'm not good at slow shutter speeds. They always turn out too bright. What am I doing wrong? Do I need less light in the first place or what?
