365 Week 5
Or
Holy mediocre week, Batman!
Day 29
January 29: As much as I love sunsets, I love the cool, subtle light of sunrise even more.
Day 30
January 30: Dirty does not begin to describe the condition of my car. I'd forgotten it was silver.
And now if you see a little Nissan Sentra -- Utah license plate Z03 9RU -- and I'm not in it, it has been stolen. Please call the police.
I thank you in advance.
Day 31
January 31: Have you ever been cleaning out your freezer, and thought "Hey look, there's some eighteen year old strawberry jam, I think I'll give it away to my co-workers."
Well, that's what happened to my wife -- and it didn't just LOOK like lung tissue (so she says, I wasn't crazy brave enough to try it).
The co-worker also asked if she wouldn't mind giving the bottles back when we were done with the jam. Classic!
Day 32
February 1: So it's February, and I said I was going to theme the days. I'm still trying to nail those down, but I got several great suggestions from Corey and Heidi, and I've been pulling from those lists as the week goes on. Mondays will be Sky Shots.
This was taken through the sun roof? moon roof? the window on the ceiling of my car.
Day 33
February 2: Tuesdays will reflect things I'm grateful for.
I'm grateful to live on the planet just far enough from the sun, with just the right amount of oxygen, and water and heat to sustain life. It seems, almost....miraculous...
Day 34
February 3: Wednesdays are reserved for the things I love. Emma is my kisser. She kisses everyone. It really gets a little ridiculous sometimes.
But, I always make an exception for my own cheek.
Day 35
February 4: And Thursday's will be for the things I hate.
I wasn't sure I could find four things that I hate -- I just don't waste time hating things. But I found one this week. I HATE being dirty.
And I'm dirty all the time now.
Could someone please invent a cleaner form of carbon? That's your assignment for next week!
Well folks, you've made it 35 days! I'm so proud of you!!

When I was growing up my dad ran a service station so he didn't have to deal with the constant layoffs of being an aerospace engineer. He hated always being dirty. Hated it.
Now, he's back to being an engineer and very proud of his clean fingernails. It took years.
Beautiful, beautiful pictures.
The theme idea is interesting. I'll have to think about that.
For a mediocre week you sure take nice pictures! That thankful shot is AMAZING.
I really need to get my butt up and take some sunrise pictures. Yours is the second sunrise shot I've seen today that has made me actually want to NOT hit the snooze tomorrow morning.
Yum. 18 year old jam sounds goooood. Seriously, people amaze me. You be sure to get those jars back to her!!
P.S. You should see Jon after he comes home from his asphalt job. I swear the man looks like he laid down on the black top and rolled around.
oh and you should see Heidi when she's through making a cake ;P
I love the reflection photo. You have such an incredible skill at catching those great shots! I applaud you for having various themes for days or months or whatever. I'm lucky just to get a shot off each day...even though I love doing so!
I sure felt like my week was pretty mediocre too.
I have to say that I love Day 29 and Day 33. They are just gorgeous!
The jam story cracks me up! I can jam every year... but we usually eat it before 18 years has gone by. Though We are still eating jam from 2008.
I love the theme idea. wonderful! glad I had a few ideas for you. :) thanks for the linkup. :)
love the thumb shot. really love it.
What wonderful pics! I must say, my favorite is the kissy pic of your Emma. (it must be the name, because my Emma is kissy as well)
I'll have to see what I can remember for the themes. LOL
ps My 15 yr old daughter is joining us now. (She's Steph's Prettiful 365)
Day 33(the reflection shot was spectacular!
I'm not sure strawberry jam is meant to be aged. :)
You sure do take some beautiful outdoor pictures...amazing sunset and reflection! Your little kisser is pretty darn cute too!
Just love day 33 - that is beautiful! And bummer about the car! If it pops up here in Africa I am sure you would not like it back.
please tell me you didn't eat that jam... sick.
Sorry girly car looks a little more girly with purple stuff on it. Ok, it's not a girly car. Cause it has a fin :)
I meant YOUR girly car... running on about 2 hours of sleep...
This is so much fun! The picture of your daughter kissing your cheek is so precious!
18 year old jam - it would be interesting to see what is growing in that! Yuck!
Well sheesh! I wish I would have a mediocre week with my camera. Those pics were fabulous! :)
Your week has been absolutely stunning! Perfect!
In my defense, I agreed to take the jam BEFORE I knew how old it was! It never dawned on me that someone would keep it that long!
Those are gorgeous pictures! I especially love the sunset and thumb pics.
Love the shot on day 33. I find it much harder to to catch the sunrise because it seems to change so much faster than the sunrise.
Great ideas for weekly themes, you just need to post something on your side bar with the themes or I will never remember them.
And once again beautiful pictures! Your nature shots, the colors in them are perfect.
And who couldn't like kisses on the cheek from their little girl. And good job getting a picture of your own thumb, that would be hard to do and not have your camera shake.
LOVE shots 33 and 34 especially. Emma is darling!!
well done and good luck for the rest of the weeks!
I just shot a rainbow this morning on my way to work, which I posted on my 'shots by La'. not a good capture but a rainbow in the morning is something so rarely happen, I guess.
I can't imagine what an 18yrs old stro-jam would taste.
and err... how's your car?
I love the shot of the lake at sunset (or was it sunrise too?) The way that the clouds are reflected in the water is breathtaking!
Hey, when you're done washing your car my van could really use a good scrub! It's blue with window cleaner right now. My kids asked me who graffitied our car.
I can't believe someone actually kept freezer jam for 18 years! That has got to be a record of some kind. Did your wife get drunk when she ate it? YUCK!
Your thumb shot was awesome, it showed your fingerprint perfectly!
I had to laugh that Emma is your kisser, I really think there's something to the name. My Emma is obnoxious with her kisses at times. :)
Looks like a pretty good week even if it was "mediocre".
Gorgeous photos, I love the sunrise.
LOL Lung tissue.....Eeew. Great pictures though :) I love the nature ones. Here in Colorado, nature is not really pretty during the winter unless it's snowing. We havent had snow in weeks!
Call it mediocre, but I don't believe it. I think it's still a great week. I love the kiss picture. And all the scenery/sky photos are beautiful. I especially love the shot out of the sun roof. I think it's the framing and the angle. My car is jealous of your car. It needs a bath in a bad way.
Love day 33! I never know what to call my window on the roof of my car either.
My sis introduced me to your blog. I'm glad! I love the pictures and stories behind each picture. I've been inspired and decided to start my own Project 365. Thanks! Come on over and take a look.

I can't get my link posted on your link list. I wonder what I am doing wrong?
Fun blog! I loved all of your comments. I though, how awesome that you don't waste the time hating. Love it!
I'm sorry, but I really had to LOL at the strawberry jam thing - that IS Classic.
Awesome as always... and EW! on the jam...
What on earth is on your car?
The jam, oh my gosh, that is TOO funny. Reminds me of when my inlaws were moving last year and we found a rubbermaid bowl of chili in the freezer that grandma had made for them. She died in 2000. My MIL thought for sure it was still good... besides grandma made it, how can we get rid of it?
I love the picture of the car wash--cool! What's more impressive is that you stopped in the middle to shoot it!
Love the self-portrait (: I hate being dirty too.
It almost looks like you were thumb printed.
I love kissy kids...Melody is the same way. Always giving and getting kisses!
It's a moon roof.
And I'm more of a sunrise than sunset person too.
I really like your pictures. They're AWESOME!
Day 33 - yes, it's a miracle to have what we do, and what's worse is we have a hard time preserving it for us, and generations to come.
I just love the kissing shot. It really captured the moment!
And, thanks for giving me the dirty thumb picture..next week, can we see a face with the outline of glasses? That would be awesome!
