Day 133

May 14: My diminishing view.

This is the view from my back yard each evening. At least it has been.

When we moved into our house, two years ago, there was a large field behind our property, and a view that spanned the whole neighborhood.

But progress marches on and, as you can see, on the right, houses are slowly creeping into the picture. By the end of the Summer, I'll have no view left at all.

I don't begrudge people new homes, and it's prime real estate (and now that the field is gone, maybe the weeds will stop jumping the fence into my back yard...), but I am going to miss the view.

Day 134

May 15: The Stingers have been up and down this season -- and Saturday they were up.

#13 played his best game of the year, and was an INCH away from scoring.

If they had just mowed the grass...

Day 135

May 16: This shot took a LOT longer than I thought it should.

Day 136

May 17: I wanted to get a shot of as many of our tulips as possible. I don't know how long they're going to last, but until they are gone, I'll keep rolling around in the dirt taking pictures of them.

Day 137

May 18: Whoops! I'm lucky to have remembered to shoot anything at all.

Hey! Glee was on!

Day 138

May 19: Here's a duck.

And a duck's reflection.

Man, I'm getting desperate...

Day 139

May 20: These are my safety glasses.

I don't like to wear them, but they seem to work -- I've never had an eye injury.

Until today...

When I poked myself in the eye.

With my safety glasses.

Wow, are those tulips as vibrant in real life as they look in the photos!? They are beautiful.
Too bad about losing your view...our view is into the neighborhood behind us. Specifically my neighbor's backyard and his annoying, yappy dog.

Oh, and how many shots did it take to get that baseball shot?

Love the picture of the mitt and the ball... and the one that you almost forgot about, actually. I like the lines and the angle of the shot.

So sad about your view. I just have to look UP for my view. Mount Timp is slightly taller than the houses around us (and coincidentally there is a pic of Mount Timp this week on my 365).

Hopefully the new neighbors you get in the field will be weed pickers. I have found that people in my neighborhood this season must be anti lawns because tons of them have let their yard be taken over by weeds. Not cool!

That baseball shot is really cool. Were you wearing your safety glasses when you took it? :)

Gorgeous tulips!

Sorry about your eye. The irony makes me snort a little though.

The duck is just ducky. Desperately ducky.

The mitt shot is RAD. Super rad.

Glad 13 had a good game. Love the shot.

How many times did you get smacked in the head with that ball?
Are we still going to be able to see fireworks from your backyard?

Wow! Once again you leave me in awe. I love the baseball shot...and the soccer shot...and the duck. Makes me feel so embarrassed at the "quick, take a picture so I don't miss a day" stuff I usually end up with. Don't respond to that, you know exactly what I mean.

Great shots.

Sorry about the loss of view.

Hate that about developing neighborhoods. UGH. Destroys the views.

LOVE the baseball shot! Glad you took the time to get it :)

Love these shots. The tulips are gorgeous. But, Glee? Really? How girly are you?! :-)

(I watch it too sometimes but that girl..the main one..drives me nuts. Is it bad I want to slap her silly?_

So sad that you are losing your view. That is the difficult thing about urban sprawl. I'm on one end of the metro area here, so I feel your pain.

I love the soccer shot! So cool! :) I need to figure out how to take action shots.

Day 135 was worth the time.

And I want to keep seeing your tulips, so thanks for keeping us updated. I need to plant some of those for myself. Can I put the bulbs in during the fall?

Day 137 is very cool, so I'm glad you remembered to shoot something too. ha!

Now you know I'm going to mention that there are no kiddos this week, but I still love all your photos. :)

That shot of the baseball was so fun! I don't think I would have been brave enough to stand that close to the mitt to get the shot. Your tulips are beautiful and so colorful.
I have to admit that I have a few of those powerline shots too. They work well in a pinch.
Looks like I was wrong about Emma being the one in soccer. :)

That baseball shot is awesome.

I thought of you when trying to capture our toy rocket launch...but I quickly gave up!

Once again, and as always, great pictures - the baseball shot is amazing!! I am so far behind in posting my pics - I think I am just going to do a whole month wrap up for May - I just don't know how else to do it!!

Your pictures are all amazing! And your desperate duck picture is great.
and that baseball shot!! Awesome! I would be afraid to take it though as what if the person didn't catch it and it hit the camera. :)
