Memories

Ok....since EVERYONE is doing this I thought it time to do it myself.

Here is a fun little game... Leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time, or a long time, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. On your mark...get set...blog your memories!!

Sheesh....where do I start? How about 3 years old waving every time we said hi...

new shoes that make us run faster and jump higher....

the dirt hills....

the homework 'chicken' incident....

the clubhouse....

endless hours with the Beach Boys, Van Halen, Duran Druan, Bon Jovi...

Betty Williams driving through her garage or yelling at us about the radio "How loud is it now Chris"?...

Hours on the trampoline....

Stealing 'the respect book' an burning it in your backyard...

Riding bikes with Cardboard stuck in the spokes....

Switching all the components on our bikes so we had opposite colors on everything....

Just about every day of Junior High and High school (Cody Davis, Jason Lupus, Jason Luke and his keys, Sean Savereese and the shotgun to the bad sounding bass drum...WTF?)....

Music videos....

Imagination Station...

I don't know....from so many, which to choose? However, the memory that is stuck in my mind that has the most prevelance of our earliest years was you and the huffy and me and the disco bike up by the school before it was open and Newcastle was not even a road yet. We were going up the 3' hill and trying to jump off the top. I made it several times and was up on the top and waiting for you. So upset you yelled in your anger "NOTHING is going to stop me this time!!!!!"
You promptly rode as fast as you could and drive right into the hill. The bike flipped forward and over the handlebars you went face first into the hill. I guess NOTHING in that equation was the hill itself.

I don't remember laughing (I probably did) but I do remember feeling so bad for you. I really wanted you to be able to do it and that was just so unfair for the hill to take you out like that.

Gratefully you eventually made it...which is like everyone who is 'naturally average' like you.

One of my favorite memories of our life together is the night you asked me to marry you. It was sweet, it was emotional, it was weird. I had been working in the dorms all day cleaning and getting ready for the summer guests. I had just gotten off and had come back to my room starving and exhausted. We sat together in my room while I ate and griped about how tired I was, putting great emphasis on how tired and sore y feet were. I must have said ten or twelve times how much my feet hurt. Just then, you suggest we GO FOR A WALK!! I was a little shocked. I almost didn't go, but you seemed pretty anxious, so I caved. It turned out great. You had a friend waiting in the bushes on our favorite trail with music for us to dance by and you proposed. It was a really nice night - but boy were my feet tired! I love you.
