365: Week 22

Day 148

May 28: Matt the Bear.

Matthew earned his Bear badge in Cub Scouts this week. Each badge comes with a corresponding mother's pin. Part of the ritual of advancing in rank, is for the Cub Scout to pin the bear pin on his mother's lapel.

Day 149

May 29: Self portrait.

I can play the guitar for months at a time (not without stopping, duh, I'm only human!) and then let it sit for months at a time too. I recently picked it back up.

By the way, this is a "C" chord -- "C" is for Chris!

And cookie (that's good enough for me).

Day 150

May 30: Through the fence.

We've had a LOT of amazing evening skies this week, and Saturday was no exception. I framed this shot through the rails of the fence in the front yard -- that's why it looks like it's in Widescreen format.

Day 151

May 31: Perpetual motion.

Even standing "still," Emma vibrates with energy.

Day 152

June 1: Remember those amazing skies I was talking about on Saturday? Well, Monday night was the light show. I have never tried to photograph lightning, so this evening I sat on the back deck, listened to the rain, watched the show and tried to catch lightning.

This was the best shot I got, but the experience was one of the most relaxing things I've done in a long time.

Day 153

June 2: In 2001, we started a Christmas tradition of putting our kids' handprints on a white shelf each year, that we keep our Christmas media (cd's, books, dvd's) on.  It's been a fun way to mark the growth of our children.

The problem is, we don't always get right to the handprinting.

We finally put on Christmas 2008's prints this week. Now we can put the shelf away for the next six months.

I can hear you asking "Why bother at this point?"

Day 154

June 3: More flowery goodness from the previous owners.

Would you like to know what a romantic I am? I know that today is the fifteenth anniversary of the day I asked Sharon to marry me!

Happy Anniversary, Sharon.

I love you!

My fave is the one through the fence. And 15 years. Geez, you are old. I'm glad I'm not as old as you!

ALL of your shots are amazing. I love the one of Emma & the self portrait. And I never knew that the Boy Scouts give Moms stuff too. We are SO going to join the Boy Scouts! LOL Man, I find out some good stuff here. Thanks Chris!

Happy "I Asked You To Marry Me Today" Anniversary! Very sweet!

As always, I love your daily pics. I'm almost glad I gave up on the practice within a week since otherwise I'd have to compare to yours! ;)

Oh melt. You ARE a romantic! Great shots this week. Love the sky shots, fabulous lightning!

And if you put that pinky finger down on the second string, it'll be a C7! I know what you mean about playing for months and letting it sit for months. I do too much of the latter.

Hope your week is a fantastic one!

Fabulous week of shots. I love the Emma one and the blue skies framed through the fence.

AND, I am terribly jealous of your lightning shot. I've tried so many times to get a shot of lightning, even a hint. I've never succeeded. Maybe I don't have the right camera or something.

Very good set of captures! Have a fabulous weekend!

Those are great pictures. I love the lightning. Greatest free show there is.

My little guy became a bear this week too. We don't do the mother pin though, that's a nice touch.

You are a romantic! I don't think my hubby would have a clue.
