Photostory Friday: Kisses

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

There is nothing in the world like a kiss.

A kiss can just light you up.

The kiss is the most intimate and personal form of human contact.

I remember, clearly, the first time I kissed my wife. It was after our second date, in the dorms of Southern Utah University. I asked her permission -- I was more chivalrous back then.

That kiss was electric, I felt it to my toes. That kiss was light and life to me, it was hope and promise. It was acceptance and desire.

Cloud nine? Cloud nine was so far below me that it made me dizzy to look down.

My pictures are often driven by emotion and a search for life, and that's why I love to photograph kisses.

Little kid kisses

They are almost always big and dramatic.

Kids rarely peck lightly on the cheek.

And I always love the response of both the kisser and the kissed.

Parents and children

The tenderness of unconditional love.

A mother's kiss is a prayer and a blessing.

The Promised

The thrill and energy of brides and grooms.

I LOVE this moment -- right before their lips touch (can you see the sparks?)

And this moment: Everything is possible.

Now get out of here, and go light someone up with a kiss!

Those are great pictures, and what a fun post. Kisses are awesome, aren't they?

BTW--I was wrong, Mark couldn't come up with the day he asked me to marry him, but he got the month and the year...I was thrilled with that, and yes, he got a kiss. :-)

I can't live without kisses from my husband and kids.
and it's funny how my kids could run and chase when one tries to kiss the other.

I see the sparks!

"My pictures are often driven by emotion and a search for life, and that's why I love to photograph kisses." I once heard a photographer say he didn't take pictures of things, but of feelings. And he's a landscape photographer. Photography is truly an art.

Off to kiss someone....

Great post...it is really cool to see how many different "kinds" of kisses there are. Each with there own emotion and meaning.

I'm back around after a break and loved reading this post, and seeing all of your recent photos. I am usually so focused on "words" that my mind can be strayed from the need also for "touch". Thanks for the reminder, a kiss really says it all!

When Jon was at Ricks he bet his roommate that he could kiss every girl in one of the dorms in a week. He won. Hussy.

To make up for it (not really, we didn't even know each other back then), he paid a ride operator at the fair to stop the ferris wheel at the top...how can you resist a first kiss like that?

FAB and RAD pics this week...love the mommy shot.

Oh, I love all of those. You made me remember my first kiss with my hubby. You are right, way about cloud nine...and then the first kiss of your little one; then when you have little ones and they kiss each other....oohhhhh!

I love kissing my sweet little granddaughter! In fact I posted kissing photos yesterday - her brother seems to think she's pretty kissable too and she sticks her little tongue out like it's icky. :)
